Cook with me - Kids

cook-with-me-kids-logoCook With Me Kids is a not for profit organisation, working with schools and groups throughout the country to help teach children (and adults!) the importance of real food and it's provenance.

From discovering how wheat is grown, to becoming a baker for the day, we offer packages to suit your requirements. Working with children aged 2 - 18, our days are packed full of fun and education, working within the National Curriculum guidelines.

Fancy a day out? Why not find out about our farm tours. We will tailor an exciting, educational trip to suit your needs, promising a day to remember.

We can then help bring the classroom to life with exciting cookery classes and activities!

Early Birds Breakfast Clubs

We are currently running a pilot Breakfast Club initiative across Suffolk schools, in partnership with Healthy Ambitions. Children will learn about the provenance of their food, nutrition and basic cookery skills aswell as eating a healthy breakfast made from ethically and locally sourced ingredients. If you are interested in finding out more, or being involved in the project please contact Anne Gartley at Healthy Ambitions on 01473 786678 or This email address is being protected from spambots. School Smallholdings:

5345967We have just established our first ever school smallholding!

Giving schools the chance to rear their own animals, we will oversee the complete process - from piglet to public!

We will help organise the set up, guide them through the animal husbandry and deal with the slaughter process. We'll then arrange a butchery demo, sausage making and ham/bacon curing.
We even help your pupils sell their free range wares to the public!

Funding is often available for these projects too!

Would you prefer to rear another type of animal? Goat and chicken smallholdings are also available.

*Please Note*
Animal welfare is our highest priority. Before a smallholding is established, rigorous checks will be undertaken to ensure you have the correct set up required. The point of the smallholding is to allow pupils to understand the processes involved in rearing animals/farming.

Food For Life Partnership

174428905Cook With Me Kids are proud to work alongside the 'Food For Life Partnership'. 'The Food for Life Partnership is a network of schools and communities across England committed to transforming food culture. We aim to reach out through schools to give communities access to seasonal, local and organic food, and to the skills they need to cook and grow fresh food.'

Every Cook With Me Kids lesson works within the FFLP scheme. We can help your school work towards accreditation as a Bronze award winner or help set you up towards the silver or gold award.
We can work with school governors, canteen staff and teachers, to help set your school up on Food For Life programme and will work with you every step of the way to ensure you achieve your goals!

Healthy Schools

Another toolkit we work with is the 'Healthy Schools' programme, which is a government based initiative.
'Schools play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of children and young people. The Healthy Schools toolkit is designed to help schools to ‘plan, do and review’ health and wellbeing improvements for their children and young people and to identify and select activities and interventions effectively. This approach will ensure schools put in place the most appropriate services and meet the needs of children and young people.'

Cook With Me Kids can help set this programme up in your school and provide ongoing advice and guidance.
